The Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has congratulated the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Austin Akobundu on his appointment as the Vice Chairman of Senate Committee on Air Force.
In the party’s letter of congratulations signed by its Chairman, Elder Abraham Amah on behalf of leaders, stakeholders, and members of the PDP in Abia State, Akobundu was described as “a seasoned statesman, accomplished legislator and a retired military officer whose service to our nation has been exemplary.”
Continuing, the party said, “Having previously served as Minister of State for Defence, he brings with him a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly strengthen the Nigerian Senate’s engagement with the Air Force and the entire military establishment.
“At a time when national security remains a top priority, we are confident that his leadership will contribute immensely to articulating policies and initiatives that will enhance the operational capacity of the Nigerian Air Force and fortify the nation’s defence architecture.
“His appointment is not only a recognition of his commitment to national service but also a testament to his unwavering dedication to progress and security of Nigeria.
“We at Abia PDP are immensely proud of Senator Akobundu’s accomplishments and remain confident that he will continue to distinguish himself in this new role. We wish him success, wisdom, and strength as he works towards advancing the interests of the Air Force, the Senate and the entire Nigeran military,” the message concluded.
