Abia Youths Hail Senator  Akobundu over Transformative Empowerment and Skills Initiative (Video)

 

 

Youths of Abia Central Senatorial District have commended Senator Austin Akobundu’s transformative empowerment and skills acquisition programmes.

 

Recall that Senator Akobundu’s initiatives have made a significant impact in the lives  people in the Senatorial District.

 

In their respective statements extracted from the accompanying video, the youths described Senator Austin Akobundu as one who is “up and doing, actively involved in his constituency, and making sure that his constituents are feeling the dividends of democracy. He is doing extremely well and it’s worthy of commendation.”

 

Speaking further, another beneficiary of one of the skills acquisition programmes declared that, “The difference is clear. He empowers so many people. He has done so many empowerment and we know that he will still do more.”

 

A third speaker stated that Senator Akobundu “is a very good man. We love him. He is a man of honour and humility. We are happy for this training. It is not easy for someone to go to the Senate and still remember his constituency,” he concluded.

 

Recall that as part of his vision to empower youths of Abia Central Senatorial District, turn them from job seekers to job creators, Senator Austin Akobundu sponsored the following empowerment and skills acquisition programmes:

 

  1. Scholarship to select undergraduates

 

  1. Sponsorship of 113 constituents to the National Teachers Institute on a full 3-year scholarship

 

iii. Sponsorship of training of over 400 secondary school students in Embedded Systems Engineering, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence

 

iii. Sponsorship of training of youths in farming and sewing. The beneficiaries were gifted empowerment items for their start-up

 

  1. Sponsorship of training of youths in paint making and cosmetics production. The beneficiaries were given cash awards for their start-up

 

  1. Ongoing sponsorship of 1000 youths to acquire digital skills in UI/UX, Web Design, Professional Graphics Design, Cyber Security Systems and Operations, Digital Marketing, Forex Trading, Software Development, and Data Science.

Senator Akobundu has stated that more of such programmes would be carried out this year covering even more areas and beneficiaries.
