…Announces Free Education for Senior Secondary School Students in All Public Schools

Anambra State Government has expressed its readiness to commence payment of the N70, 000 minimum wage next month.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo made the announcement at Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Center, Awka while meeting with all principals and head teachers in public primary and secondary schools.
Governor Soludo who also announced that from next week, the free education policy will be available to senior students in all public schools in Anambra, assured that even with the binding resource constraint, his administration will continue to work very hard to deliver on the mandate.
Recall that since 2023, the state government under Governor Soludo have been implementing the free education policy for pupils and students in all public schools from Basic to Junior Secondary School Classes.
The Governor further directed those students in senior classes who have already paid their five-thousand-naira fees for this term, should be refunded while enumerating some of his administration’s strides in human capital development, promising to do more.
Those who attended the event include Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Commissioner for Local Government, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, their Budget and Economic Planning counterpart, Mrs. Chiamaka Nnake, National President of Anambra Association of Town Unions, Barr. Titus Akpudo, Chairman of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB Dr. Vera Nwadinobi and her Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC counterpart, Prof. Nkechi Ikediugwu.
