The prestigious 2024 Presidential Prizes for Secondary Schools in Nigeria were awarded yesterday, honouring the outstanding scholastic achievements of educators across the country.
Among the award categories were Overall Best Teacher, Second Best Secondary School, Second Best Primary Head Teacher, and Second-Best Secondary School Principal.
Taking home, the top honours for Overall Best Teacher was Nwosu, Joseph Afamefuna of Government Technical College, Osomala, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra.
Mr. Nwosu received a brand-new chassis Hundai Accent as his STAR prize and was also named as the number one teacher in the Federal government list – a tremendous achievement.
For Second Best Secondary School, Holy Child Secondary School Isuofia, Aguata LGA, Anambra was recognized for its incredible academic results and dedication to student achievement.
The Second-Best Primary Head Teacher award went to Chukwudumeme Franca Adaeze of Aforigwe Primary School Umudioka, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra
Ms. Adaeze has been an integral part of her school community, helping guide her students toward academic success and nurturing their love of learning.
In the category of Second-Best Secondary School Principal, Dr. Umezinwa, Grace Amara of Girls High School Uga, Aguata LGA, Anambra, was recognized for her leadership and guidance of her school community.
She played a pivotal role in helping her students achieve their full potential and went on to great success in their academic and professional lives.
Finally, it was also announced that the teachers of Anambra took second place in the March Past of the 37 states and Federal Education parastatals.
Overall, the 2024 Presidential Prizes for Secondary Schools in Nigeria, especially the outstanding successes recorded by Anambra State, are a reflection of the tremendous transformation that Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has brought to bear in the educational sector in Anambra.
