Types Of Distraction
Distraction comes in different forms and 12 among them are listed below.
1. FRUSTRATION: When someone is frustrated, the zeal and passion needed to pursue life’s purpose won’t be attainable. John the Baptist in (Matt. 11:1-6)
2. OPPOSITION: Most of opposing actions from our enemies are orchestrated to shift our focuses and attentions from our goals. Samballat and Tobiah opposing Nehemiah (Neh. 4)
3. TEMPTATION: Devil uses temptations to distract people of purpose in order to hinder them from fulfilling their purposes. Jesus Christ Matt. 4:1-, Luke 4)
4. INTIMIDATION: Fear and fright are instruments of distraction that hinder many people from pursuing their dreams or follow their conviction. Elijah and 3 Hebrews (1King 19:1-14, Dan. 3:6-18)
5. STRANGE ATTRACTION: Strange attractions divert many people’s attentions from their goals and they would be chasing shadows. Samson and David (Jud. 14:1-10, 2Sam.11:2-4)
6. WORLDLINESS: Those who are entangled by the affairs of this world cannot but be distracted from living life purposefully. Demas in (2Tim.4:10, 2Tim.2:4)
7. DEPRESSION: Internal weakness, absent minded and hopelessness are tools of distraction. They steal hope and inhibit progress. (Psalm 42:11)
8. LIMITATION: There is no limitation except those that we set for ourselves such as, self-imposed beliefs, tradition, ideas and doctrine that are inimical to our progress. (1Tim. 1:4)
9. PERSECUTION: Enemies of progress will stop at nothing from persecuting you so as to distract and cause you to lose focus of your purpose. (John 15:20, Matt. 5:44)
10. ACCUSATION: Most times, negative people use wrong accusations to distract the people of purpose. A good example is our Lord Jesus in (Luke 23:2, Mark 15:3, John 8:6, and Paul in Acts 24:2, 1Pet. 3:16)
11. CONDEMNATION: Haters of your progress will always condemn your efforts in order to distract and stop you from making progress. (Rom. 8:1)
12. COMFORT ZONE: Many people experienced distraction as a result of pleasure and enjoyment of small success. They got carried away in the midway of little success instead of forging ahead. (1King 13:18-26, 20:36) Etc
