On Wednesday, July 23, 2025, Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo, the CEO of Seahorse Lubricant Industries LTD, donated ₦100 million to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Local Government principal officers, ward executives and his campaign team to appreciate them for their support.

The event took place at his country home in Ihembosi, Ekwusigo Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra State.

This generous gesture was in appreciation of the unwavering support from his campaign team and APGA faithful during his campaign, which has been described as the most impactful in Anambra South since the era of the late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah.

Chief Onunkwo expressed gratitude to his campaign team and APGA executives, pledging to sustain the strong relationships forged during the campaign. He emphasised his commitment to the party and its future endeavours.

It is noteworthy that Chief Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo was a prominent aspirant for the APGA ticket in the forthcoming Anambra South Senatorial bye-election.

Despite being the most popular candidate, he stepped down for Emma Nwachukwu in deference to the party leadership.

The Mayor of Ekwusigo LGA, Mr. Chimezie Obi, who was present at the event, commended Chief Onunkwo’s longstanding contributions to APGA. He revealed that Chief Onunkwo has been a key sponsor of the party’s activities in Ekwusigo LGA since joining the party in 2006.

“Chief Ebuka Onunkwo was instrumental to my emergence as the Mayor of Ekwusigo LGA. He deserves all the accolades he is receiving and more. I am delighted that he remains committed to the party and respects its decisions,” Mayor Obi stated.

The event was marked by celebration, with attendees enjoying music, food, and inspiring speeches.

The party faithful commended Chief Onunkwo for his sportsmanship and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him and his family.
