In a bid to enhance staff performance and motivate workers toward greater efficiency and productivity, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission (ESSC), Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, led Board Members in an interactive session with commission workers.

In her opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. A. P. Efe-Amenze, emphasized the need for unity and cooperation among staff members.

“As the Zonal Eliminations and the National Sports Festival approach, we must be well-prepared to excel. We seek your support and cooperation to secure the top position in these events,” she said.

Hon. Enabulele underscored the importance of discipline among both coaches and athletes.

“I want to stress the need for discipline at all times. This is crucial for maintaining professionalism and ensuring success in our sporting programs,” he stated.

He further urged staff members to collaborate effectively with coaches and athletes to achieve common goals. He also called on Organizing Secretaries to be fully committed to working with the associations they are assigned to, ensuring seamless operations.

“For the upcoming Edo State Sports Festival in March/April 2025, coaches, Organizing Secretaries, and athletes will be posted to various local government areas to ensure thorough preparation,” he announced.

“Immediately after the Edo State Sports Festival, all athletes and coaches will proceed to camp in preparation for the National Sports Festival in Ogun State. This is a crucial phase, and I expect full commitment from everyone involved,” he added.

He also cautioned against workplace distractions.

“My office will not tolerate gossip or blackmail,” Enabulele warned.

Regarding employment concerns raised by workers, Hon. Enabulele assured them that the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo is actively working on employing more athletes to strengthen the state’s sports sector.
