Giving Towards the Things of God and Mentality of “Give & Take” by Christians

No man gets anything from God by merit. Attributing whatever that God does for you to a reward of what you have given or done for Him is an abuse of the Grace and mercy of God.

It is unfortunate that most preachers, especially the Pentecostal Pastors of today have indoctrinated us to believe that we have to give to God for Him bless us.

As a Bible student, I have studied the Bible over and over and I didn’t see anywhere in the Bible where God requested gifts from poor people to bless them in return. Abraham, Solomon, David, etc, that they use as examples were rich and wealthy individuals at the instances of their giving towards the things of God, and not with the mentality to give and receive in return.

As children of God, it is our responsibility to give towards the things of God. Our giving through offerings, tithes and other various contributions we do in churches should be our acts of service, honour, and appreciation unto God for what He has done for us. For the Bible says no one receives anything except from above (God).

It is important to know that we don’t give to God, we can only give towards the things of God. And when we give towards the things of God, we do not do so for Him to multiply and return it to us in the form of a blessing.
But we give toward the things God in honour and appreciation of what He had done for us as His children.

The question to ask is – must we give towards the things of God? The answer is YES. We have the duty and responsibility to give towards the things of God as His children but not with the mentality of Give &Take or by Fire by Force as being preached by many pastors.
The Bible only admonishes us to give according what we purpose in our hearts.

WORTH THINKING ABOUT:
God didn’t take anything from Jabez, Isaac, Abraham etc before He blessed them. Neither will the same God take anything from you to bless you. Our heavenly father is a kind God who doesn’t wait for you to give Him your money to multiply it before He blesses you.

NOTE:
From the Bible time till today, I have not seen anyone who becomes rich by giving. If you desire to be rich, get busy with work/business and honour God with your resources through giving to people and supporting the work of God.

I Wish You A Great Weekend!
