The Gwandu Emirate Annual Horse Racing and Cultural Festival has constituted a committee for horse racing competition.
This committee is to be chaired by Alhaji Haliru Abubakar SK, Sarkin Sukuwan Gwandu.
This was disclosed in a statement by Alhaji Mustapha Usman Adamu Ka’oje, Chief Coordinator of Gwandu Emirate Annual Horse Racing and Cultural Festival in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
According to him, “To ensure the success and sustainability of the festival this year and beyond, the Council have approved your appointment to serve as Chairman of the committee on horse racing.”
Ka’oje noted that other members of the committee include Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku (Amirun Zoramawa), Alhaji Umaru Idris Buro, Comr. Shafi’u Abubakar Zauro, Alhaji Abdul Aziz M Jega (Makaman Gwandu) and Alhaji Abdul Aziz Umar Talba.
Others are Alhaji Ibrahim Malami Usman, Aminu Abdullahi, Faruku Shanshama, Alhaji Haliru Sarki Waziri (Madakin Gwandu), Manir Umar Hussaini and Dalhatu Ibrahim KKB would serve as Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the committee respectively.
