HURIWA Applauds Soludo’s Confirmation of Law Mefor as Commissioner for Information

Describes appointment as Qualitative, Sound

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has applauded the Anambra State governor Professor Charles Chukwuma Nwagbafor Soludo over the meritorious appointment of top brass journalist in Abuja and a clinical psychologist Dr. Law Mefor as Anambra State Commissioner for INFORMATION.

Commending the  rapid approval of Dr Mefor’s nomination as the Commissioner of Information by the Anambra State House of Assembly as a correct decision, the right group stated that the  new appointee has what it takes to turn around the dwindling public image of the administration of Governor Soludo which has come under intensed negative perception from members of the public due to the apparent dearth of information about the milestones achieved so far by the Anambra State government under the professor Soludo government.

HURIWA asked the new appointee to work all round the clock to precisely provide information to the people.

In a media statement by the National Coordinator Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, HURIWA stated that Dr. Mefor would bring to bear his longstanding unquestionable and competent management of information and we are pleased that the new Commissioner for information in Anambra State is one of the few original thinkers and reputable media strategists around in Nigeria just as it emphasised that knowing Dr Mefor for well over two decades as a publisher, media manager, clinical psychologist,  human rights activist and Igbo patriot, the Ministry of information in Anambra State is in good hand.

Whilst extending her best wishes to Dr Law Mefor, HURIWA encourages the newly appointed information Commissioner to run a ministry that is media friendly and constructive in such a way that the flow of top-quality information from the government and the people would become a seamless process.

The Rights group has appealed to our professional colleagues in the media industry to partner effectively with the new Commissioner of information in Anambra State Dr Law Mefor so as to serve the good people of Anambra State.

“We urge the new Commissioner to get on immediately with the task of enlightenment, information and education of the citizens of Anambra State and all residents on the achievements, aspirations, goals and objectives of the government of governor Soludo because according to HURIWA, democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people. We wish the new information Commissioner all the best in his new assignment to his home State, HURIWA concluded.
