The International Institute of Journalism Alumni Association (IIJAA) has inaugurated its interim executive committee, marking a new phase in the association’s drive toward institutional development, alumni engagement, and professional excellence.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Major Professor Aku Andrew (rtd), who charged the new leadership to uphold unity, innovation, and dedicated service in advancing the objectives of the Institute.

In his keynote address, Maj. Prof. Aku Andrew emphasized the responsibility of the alumni body as key ambassadors of the International Institute of Journalism, urging the executives to work collectively to strengthen the institution’s accreditation, visibility, and relevance in the media landscape.
In his acceptance speech, the President of the Association, Dr. Reuben Okala, pledged effective collaboration with members of the executive committee and the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to reposition IIJ for international recognition and academic excellence.

The event attracted IIJ alumni, faculty members, and distinguished guests, all of whom expressed commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of the Institute.
