IWD: NAWOJ FCT Seeks NTA’s Partnership to Amplify Women’s Voices

In preparations for the upcoming International Women’s Day, the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), FCT Chapter, has sought a strategic partnership with NTA Channel 5 Abuja, emphasizing the need for grassroots representation in media narratives.

Speaking during the visit, NAWOJ FCT Chairperson Comrade Bassey Ita Ikpang, who is equally a proud member of the NTA family, expressed gratitude to the management of NTA Channel 5 for their support, since she assumed the office of the chairperson of NAWOJ FCT.

Bassey disclosed the NTA have been of great support to NAWOJ FCT in projecting their activities thus giving them visibility.

The NAWOJ FCT Chair reeled out the association’s commitment to advocating for women’s rights and ensuring that critical issues affecting women remain at the forefront of public discourse.

 

“NTA has been a strong pillar in promoting credible journalism, and as women journalists, we recognize the power of collaboration in amplifying our voices, especially for those at the grassroots,” Ikpang stated.

Receiving the delegation, Mr. Paul Atte, General Manager of NTA Channel 5 Abuja, reaffirmed the station’s commitment to supporting NAWOJ’s mission. He emphasized the invaluable role women play in shaping homes, societies, and the nation at large.

“This collaboration is not just timely; it is essential. Women are the backbone of society, and giving them a stronger platform aligns with our vision of balanced and inclusive media representation,” Atte remarked.

The high-level discussions during the visit paved the way for future engagements, addressing pressing issues and fostering unity within the media landscape.
