A democratic group established for good governance in Africa popularly know as Movement for The Consolidation of Democracy (MOCODE), has urged the former governor of Rivers State to leave Fubara alone.
The group condemned in strongest terms the political interference by the former governor in Rivers State.
In a statement released to Portfolio Media in Abuja, co-signed by Segun Oluwatosin,
Muhammad Kabir Ahmed, Sir Ude Ejikeme, Engr. Sygon George, Jeff Eleazar, Chief Ozurumba Chima, Frank Marvin Ojebo, Chukwuemeka Gabriel, Charles Edet Esq, Phd, Chief Sunny Ayame, one of the leaders of the group Dr. Charles Edet urged that Simi Fubara should be allowed to carry out the lofty dreams he has for the people of Rivers State without interruption from any quarters.
He described the Rivers State Governor Simi Fubara as a “free minded thinker that has come to stay in the minds of the people of the state with support from all tribes. “
Dr. Edet stated that “Fubara does not know whether you are Ijaw or Ikwere, whether you are upland or riverine, all he knows is River State. “
MOCODE also called on all political actors, the national assembly, state assembly members and all democratic stakeholders, to ensure that the state assembly members that defected goes back to status quo,
“For the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of River State and Nigeria in general. “
MOCODE urged the president to allow the state to sort out their problems democratically.
