Merry Christmas to all my Christian family and friends!

Merry Christmas to all my Christian family and friends!

As I reflect on Christmas Day today, I am filled with warm, fuzzy memories of my youth in Nigeria. Growing up as a Muslim in a predominantly Muslim community, Christmas was still a time we eagerly looked forward to.

The atmosphere always changed on Christmas Day. The joy, the gaiety, and the dazzling brilliance of the season brought communities together in celebration.

The air was often filled with music, laughter, the irresistible aroma of good food, and the colorful beauty of festive outfits.

It was a season of love and shared humanity, where faiths intertwined in mutual respect and admiration for each other’s traditions.

Those memories remind me of the richness of unity and the beauty of diversity, which sadly appear to be gradually slipping away in Nigeria to the point where indolent individuals constitute themselves into a self-appointed moral police force that prowl social media spaces in search of Muslims to curse, shame, or “correct” for wishing Christians a Merry Christmas.

I have notoriety for blocking such people. I have zero tolerance for that kind of bigotry.

As you celebrate, I pray that the joy, peace, and goodwill of Christmas fill your hearts and homes. May the season inspire us all to extend kindness and compassion to one another, no matter our beliefs.

Wishing you and your loved ones a truly blessed and pleasant Christmas!

Now, don’t forget my Christmas rice o. Remember, big sallah is only about six months away. If you don’t give me Christmas rice today, expect no sallah meat from me in June😁!
