AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT AHMED TINUBU GCFR.
Dear Mr. President,
I am compelled to bring to your attention the distressing situation of Senator Natasha Akpoti, who is being harassed and intimidated following her accusations of sexual harassment against Senate President Senator Godwill Akpabio.
As a concerned citizen, I urge His Excellency and the First Lady to intervene promptly and ensure that Senator Akpoti’s fundamental human rights, as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution, are protected. It is essential that her rights, and those of all Nigerian women, are safeguarded against harassment and intimidation.
The Nigerian Constitution guarantees the rights of all citizens, including the right to freedom from discrimination, harassment, and intimidation.
As the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is your duty to uphold and protect these rights.
I respectfully request that you take immediate action to:
– Ensure Senator Akpoti’s safety and security
– Protect the rights of all Nigerian women to live free from harassment and intimidation and any form of discrimination.
Your prompt intervention in this matter will demonstrate your commitment to upholding the rights of all Nigerians, particularly women, and ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respect.
Sincerely,
Ebubeagu Ekenulo
Activist.
