The National Secretariat of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.
NAWOJ in a statement released by NAWOJ National Chairperson, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim, stated that since the Inception of the administration, the President has continued to fulfill his campaign promises of ensuring Gender Inclusion by his appointment of women in key offices in Government.
Applauding the women for the appointed into key positions, Comrade Ibrahim charged them on serving the country with commitment, dedication, uprightness and due diligence in all capacities and urged them to remain role models.
“All eyes are on women in leadership; please, it is time to disprove the myth about the lack-lustre performance of women in governance and prove to the world that women are imbued with the capacity to achieve results in whatever tasks they are saddled with. ” The National Chairperson stated.
She urged women to shun any form of misconduct which may tarnish the image of women or dent the integrity of womanhood by creating doubts on their leadership capacities.
According yo her: “Lead with every sense of humour and be proactive! We are women and we are proud to be one.”
NAWOJ also tasked the newly sworn in Chief Justice of Nigeria to use her good office in promoting the rule of law, national security and peace as well as serving her mother land with fairness.
