NAWOJ President, Ladi, Seeks Re-election

… Says She Has Made Tremendous Gain for Union

Ahead of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) delegates conference in November, President of the association, Comrade Ladi Bala, has picked her nomination form to seek for another term in office.

Ladi, who was accompanied by some National Officers of the Union to the NUJ National Secretariat, Abuja to purchase the intent form, said her achievements of repositioning NAWOJ, and making the Union vibrant in the comity of Women Organisations in the country is a plus to members.

According to her, the last three years has been very eventful as NAWOJ now has it’s own office, a landed property as well as engaging in series of workshops, seminars and Advocacy programmes, which have benefited women, children and the girl – child.

Ladi said the narrative has changed as NAWOJ is now fully registered with Corporate Affairs Commission ( CAC ), which qualifiers her as an NGO.

She explained that the just concluded three days robust strategic plan workshop, sponsored by ActionAid and a Canadian Organization, was to draw up strategic activities and programmes for NAWOJ  for a period of five years.

The NAWOJ president therefore solicited the support of NAWOJIANS to enable her consolidate on the gains she and her team have made so far, and also give her their mandate for another term as President of the Union.

The present Secretary of NAWOJ, Comrade Helen Udofa and Treasurer, Mrs. Fatima Abdulrasheed also picked nomination forms to seek for re-election.
