The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has celebrated mothers on Mothering Sunday, recognizing their selfless love, care and sacrifices
Paying tribute to mothers for their invaluable contributions to the families and society, the Chairperson of the Council, Comrade Grace Ike, in her goodwill message saluted the strength, love, and sacrifices of mothers, particularly those in the journalism profession, who continue to balance their professional responsibilities with family life.
She emphasised the vital role women play in shaping narratives, nurturing future generations, and upholding the values of truth and integrity in society.
“As journalists, we recognise and appreciate the resilience of female journalists who juggle the demands of their profession with their vital roles as mothers and caregivers. May this day serve as a reminder of their immense contributions to our homes, workplaces, and the nation at large,” she stated.
The NUJ FCT Council urges society to continue supporting and uplifting mothers, ensuring that their efforts are acknowledged and rewarded while wishing all mothers a joyous and fulfilling Mothering Sunday.
