NUJ FCT Council Commiserates Secretary, Jide Oyekunle on Father’s Demise

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has commiserated with its Secretary, Comrade Jide Oyekunle over the demise of his father, Elder Samuel Ayanlola Oyekunle.

The union in a condolence message signed by its Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, expressed heartfelt condolences to Comrade Jide Oyekunle, family and loved ones during this grieving time.

Elder Samuel Ayanlola Oyekunle died in the early hour of Thursday 20th March 2025 in Ibadan after a brief illness at the age of 76. He hailed from Ilua Community, Okeho Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Reminiscing Elder Oyekunle’s life time, the union described him as a source of inspiration to many and a beacon of hope in IIua Community.

The message reads: “Late Elder Oyekunle was the former Chairman of the Nigeria Professional Photographer Association (NPPA) Oyo State Iseyin Branch (NPPA). A distinguished opinion leader, lover of people and a beacon of hope in the community. He departed this life leaving behind a legacy of dedication, selflessness, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of the society and humanity.

His invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Ilua Community, Iseyin Local Government and photography profession in Oyo State and the country as a whole will be a reference point in the annals of history. He left an indelible mark in the lives of many people who have come in contact with him and this will continue to influence the future generations.

Late Elder Oyekunle was not just a leader he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration for many. He was a peace-loving father, husband and opinion leader who has lived a life worthy of emulation.”

He was Survived by wife, children and grandchildren.

 

The Union encouraged the Secretary to find solace in the cherished memories shared with his father and assured him of their unwavering support.
