The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Sports team has officially presented the trophy and a N100,000 cheque they won in the Abuja Charity Marathon Ambassadors mixed-gender novelty match to the NUJ FCT Council Excos in Abuja.
The team emerged victorious with a 2-0 score against the Ambassadors team in the match held on Sunday, April 6th, 2025.
Presenting the Trophy, Coach Bob Etemiku, expressed his gratitude to the Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike and the Excos for her unwavering support for the team in all their outings.
He declared that the team’s 2-0 victory over their opponents was a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Coach Bob appreciated the Council Leadership for the opportunity given to the team to showcase their skills and dedication to sports.
Reacting to the presentation, Comrade Grace Ike commended the sports team for making the council proud. She emphasized the importance of sports for journalists, highlighting its benefits for their health and well-being. As journalists often work busy schedules on the beat, she encouraged members to prioritize sports and make time for it.

In attendance were Vice Chairman of Council, Yahaya Ndambabo, Secretary, Jide Oyekunle, Treasurer Sandra Udeike, Captain of the Team, Odion Musa Fernando, Hudson Efosa, Felix Ojo, Princess Joy Idam, while Ediri Oyibo, Nkechi Onyeneke and Chioma Amajor were unavoidably absent during the ceremony.
