Oshiomole Disclose Reasons for His Dismissal from Office

Former national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, has revealed some of the reasons for his dismissal from office.

Oshiomole spoke about his battle with the party’s governors at the launch of Salihu Lukman’s book “APC and Transition Politics,” which was held on Tuesday at the Shehu Yar’Adua Center in Abuja.

The former chairman accused a few governors, including Kayode Fayemi and Ibikunle Amosun of Ekiti and Ogun States respectively, for spearheading an unlawful campaign to remove him from office. Mr. Oshiomhole alleged that these governors utilized all sorts of illegal means to remove him following his efforts to establish party supremacy.

Mr. Oshiomhole criticized Mr. Lukman for writing several letters dismissing his leadership without consulting him first; he further stated that when one rides on a tiger’s back, there is only one destination – destruction.

He also claimed that Lukman was undemocratically appointed by the governor’s forum without any consultation or approval from him as a governor.

He revealed how he wrote letters inviting governors for meetings to discuss guidelines for conducting primaries before they were released so that parties could claim ownership once it had been debated upon; however, some governors refused but rather asked him to come meet them at Imo House instead of APC headquarters.

Regarding their meeting with these same governors who later removed him from office, Mr. Oshiomhole said it felt like being in a military barrack due to their hostile attitude towards him despite being colleagues within the party framework.

During this meeting where diatribes were hurled against each other among other things discussed above such as loyalty issues related comments made by some Governors past political history regarding switching parties etc., he warned Governor Ganduje about future attacks since President Buhari did not intervene during his own crisis within APC.

Finally yet importantly enough Kwara State received N800 million gifted by APC Party members toward supporting “Oto ge” movement resulting in victory over PDP.
