Soludo Assures Commitment To Recruiting More Teachers

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has assured the Anambra State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, of his administration’s plan to employ more special and qualified teachers in both public primary and secondary schools and, to re-engineer the state education policies that will help improve the quality of learning.

Governor Soludo was a special guest of honor on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the 9th (7th Quadrennial) Delegates Conference of the Union held at Teacher’s House in Awka with the Theme, “Petrol Subsidy Removal: its impact on the teacher and learner, the way forward”, where he equally thanked Anambra State teachers for bringing home national and international laurels.

Recall that Governor Chukwuma Soludo in a bid to end the era of schools without teachers and hospitals without medical personnel had within his first nine months in office recruited 5,000 qualified teachers and 350 medical personnel.

The Head of Service, Barr. Theodora Igwegbe, Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, Chairpersons of Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board and Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, representatives of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, among others, attended the event.
