Soludo Celebrates Civil Servants with 20,000 Christmas Bonus

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has celebrated civil servants with 20,000 naira Christmas bonus.  

Governor Soludo during the 2023 Public Service Day celebration held at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka, he promised a cash award of twenty thousand naira for the state workforce and acknowledged their dedicated service to Anambra’s people.

The event had “Digitalization of work processes in public service: A Gateway to efficient resources utilization and National development” as its theme.

Governor Soludo emphasized digitalization’s importance in public service while highlighting recent digital training programs for 20,000 youths that benefited many civil servants.

 He announced plans to distribute 1,000 laptops among civil servants next year and stressed being tech-savvy is essential today.

Despite Nigeria’s current economic challenges such as double-digit inflation and exchange rate depreciation affecting fixed-income earners like public servants heavily, Governor Soludo assured his government would continue supporting them by paying outstanding gratuities accumulated by previous administrations consistently.

In appreciation of their efforts despite these challenges, Governor Soludo donated buses to ease transportation issues faced by public servants and encouraged them to participate in distributing palm and coconut seedlings. He suggested planting ten or fifteen seedlings could help escape poverty over time.

The Head of Service thanked Governor Soludo for increasing workers’ salaries by 10% and making N12,000 monthly payments from September through December palliative while commending him for approving digital skills training for civil servants.

Secretary to the State Government Prof., Solo Chukwulobelu; Chief of Staff Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; members of the executive council; National President Anambra State Association Town Union Barr., Titus Akpudo; Permanent Secretaries were present at this event.

Barrister Mrs. Ngozi Melifonwu advised civil servants not only diligently discharge duties but also take advantage of free-of-charge digital skill training offered under Soludo’s administration so they can be efficient during this era where technology plays an important role in productivity within society.
