Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has unveiled initiatives aimed at revitalizing public schools in the state.
To address pressing issues concerning tertiary education, especially in public schools, Governor Soludo paid a one-day working visit to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam.
Accompanied by key government officials and warmly welcomed by teaching and non-teaching staff alike during his on-the-spot assessment of university conditions, the Governor announced plans for improving learning and creating a more supportive environment for students.
Speaking during to the students, Governor Soludo emphasized initiatives aimed at equipping the school, providing better access to information for students and stimulating their interest in learning.
He also stressed the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and his administration to improve career readiness while bridging skills gaps between classroom learning and job requirements.
Governor Soludo called for streamlined education services that are responsive to student needs through better communication and coordination with educational institutions.
He recalled his days as a lecturer and commended Vice Chancellor Professor Greg Nwakoby’s team efforts which have made it Nigeria’s second-best state-owned institution.
While assuring building support structures such as a Staff club for faculty members’ use on campus, Governor Soludo noted there is still room to rank this university among Nigeria’s best; he called upon collaborative efforts towards developing Anambra State into a desirable homeland.






Commissioner for Education Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh eulogized him as transformative leadership who has revitalized education sector within Anambra State earlier before being joined by Vice-Chancellor Professor Nwakoby who enumerated some achievements recorded during his tenure while making requests necessary enhancing its learning conditions during an occasion held with other dignitaries present including Secretary to Anambra State Government Professor Solo Chukwulobelu Chief-of-Staff Mr Ernest Ezeajughi Chief Protocol Officer Hon Chinedu Nwoye Transition Committee Chairman Dr Anselm Onuorah amongst others featuring inspection tours of several facilities available.
The governor later had discussions with student leaders where SUG President Mr Matthew Okpala requested construction of speed bumps along roads leading into campus alongside buses & hostels which were granted while inspecting facilities available.
