The Standup for Women Society (SWS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, rounded off its 2025 activities with a Thanksgiving Service and large-scale humanitarian outreach aimed at uplifting vulnerable women and children.

The Thanksgiving Service, held on December 14 at the NTA Arena Chapel, Abuja, was marked by spirited praise, worship, singing and dancing, as members reflected on God’s faithfulness throughout the year.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of SWS FCT Chapter, Lib. Dr. Princess Joy Idam, the organisation emphasised the importance of annual gratitude to God as a foundation for service and impact.

Following the service, members proceeded to Aso Village, Sabon Lugbe, under Kabusa Ward, where they carried out an outreach programme that benefited over 1,500 women and children. Items distributed included hair accessories, food items, household essentials, clothing, footwear and handbags.

The outreach formed part of SWS’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive, targeted at giving back to underserved communities. Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of SWS FCT Chapter, Lib. Mina Daniels, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to extending similar support to other communities in the coming year. She commended members for their generosity and collective effort in making the project a success.

The event also witnessed a strong show of solidarity for Hon. Princess Gladys Ngozi Joseph, Councillor Candidate for ADC, Kabusa Ward. Addressing members, Hon. Joseph described the outreach as massive, noting that the overwhelming support from SWS would significantly boost her chances in the forthcoming February 2026 elections. She expressed deep appreciation to the chapter.

The Women Leader of Aso Community, Comrade Tokwase Josiah, thanked SWS for remembering the community, describing the visit as timely and impactful. She expressed hope for sustained engagement in the coming year.

Also speaking, a National Officer of the Society, Lib. Grace Oshinyemi, thanked God for life and encouraged members to remain proactive as they prepare for 2026, urging the chapter to sustain regular community-to-community interventions.

In a related development, members of SWS FCT Chapter paid a solidarity visit to the NTA Sports Inaugural End-of-Year Party Awards in honour of the Chapter Treasurer, Lib. Rachel Ayeni, bringing the day’s activities to a colourful and memorable close.
