Recent developments in the Imo media circle, as they concern real and perceived activities, especially, alleged overzealousness by some individuals purporting to work for officials of the Imo State government or putting themselves forward as surrogates of any sorts.
These unfavourable narratives advert the wrongful signal about the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, as harbouring or even emboldening lawless zealots who derive joy in harassing harmless and vulnerable Imolites.
It is important to state most specifically, that His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, is a stickler to Rule of Law, and takes very strongly to the protection of human rights and dignity, therefore, would not condone any acts of lawlessness, abuse, harassment or corruption, in any guise, no matter who is involved.
The governor’s zero tolerance for any act of misconduct, no matter how small and no matter who is involved, is well documented, and adequately published.
The governor’s most indispensable allies and political strong bones are the ordinary hardworking Imolites; artisans, taxi drivers, traders, and other low income earners, who engage in lawful businesses and jobs to survive. Therefore, anyone who attempts to harass anyone of such Imolite earns the ire of the governor, and is an enemy of his administration.
While it is important to encourage motorists to abide by extant traffic codes and only use designated parks for their operations, it is important to inform every Imolite that the governor has not empowered anyone to harass commercial motorists in the guise of enforcing traffic rules.
Designated officials are expected to uphold the highest standards and professionalism in executing their functions. Also, all fines and levies for defaulting motorists are expected to be paid, only, to designated government TSA accounts. Any official asking for payment in cash or through private account numbers or commercial POS, is shortchanging the government.
Motorists are encouraged not to cower to such intimidation, but to insist on paying into government TSA account.
His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, is aware of numerous complaints alleging excesses on the part of some of his officials, and the public is hereby reassured that these complaints do not fall on deaf ears. Investigations are ongoing and anyone found culpable in any act of misconduct, shall face adequate penalties.
IMO IS LAWFUL!
