Onwuasoanya FCC Jones
This guy, VDM, is carving or has carved a good space for himself in the Nigerian entertainment, political and civil society habitats. He is fast becoming a force to reckon with, and many people believe he is already one.
There are people who believe that he needs to slow down or that he should be a little more circumspect in picking up his battles, but I doubt if those people are correct, and I would be disappointed, if VDM heeds those unsolicited advices. Fortune favours the bold.
The difference between success and failure, is that most times, success treads, recklessly, where failure, tries to observe the law.
One thing that stands VDM out from the millions of his admirers and those who seek to advise him on how to go about his life and the career he is building for himself, is that, VDM, unlike many of them, has already realized what he would want to go to prison for, and even die for, if the need arises.
But many of us are just passing through this life, getting into troubles, we don’t know how to reap from and dying deaths, we don’t know what it is for. The greatest thing that a man can achieve is getting to know what he can die for. And I tell you, VDM has achieved that.
VDM deliberately gets into trouble for fun. He is a very intentional man, and I think he has access to more resources than he is ready to divulge.
He is not unintentionally careless; he is deliberately reckless. If you think that he didn’t know the legal risks involved in his activities, then, you should know better. VDM gets into trouble for fun.
On his ongoing case with the EFCC, I bet you, he is deliberately dragging the EFCC into a trap they are already falling into. He was careless, yes, but that’s for a reason. If he was careful, this material wouldn’t have gained the traction it is gaining.
And if I were the EFCC chairman, I would simply inform Nigerians that the commission is conducting a thorough investigation and thank VDM for bringing this to their notice.
What VDM did is tantamount to whistleblowing, and there is no law shielding EFCC officials from being whistle blown on.
And, the EFCC lacks the right to become the investigator in a case where it is being accused of complicity. If they wanted to pretend that they know their job, then, they should have written to the Nigerian Police to report VDM and Bobrisky or if they wanted to be more civil, they would have gone to court to press charges.
The invitation extended to VDM is simply an intimidation tactic which shouldn’t be associated with a supposed elite law enforcement agency like them.
As for VDM, the Federal Government should guard him jealously as a national treasure, he should be encouraged and protected, because we do not have many of his types in Nigeria.
The few people who would have followed his path have dropped off along the way, for reasons, you may be aware of. Countries need characters like VDM to grow. He is a thorn on the flesh of public and private thieves.
Nigeria Shall Prevail!
