… Describes Rumours as False, Baseless
In a dramatic turn of events, a high-profile dispute has erupted in Abia State as the recent installation of Eze Aro, Dr. Eberechukwu Oji, faces legal and political challenges, the Abia State Government has debunked the claims of the dethronement of the Eze Aro.
A ruling from an Abia State High Court has ordered the newly crowned Eze Aro to vacate his throne, citing non-compliance with the established enthronement procedures.
However, the Abia State government has flatly rejected these claims. Speaking at the Government House in Umuahia, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Hon. Ferdinand Ekeoma, dismissed the court’s order as unfounded and labeled the reports of the king’s removal as mere rumors.
Ekeoma emphasized that the state government was unaware of any such court order, asserting that the process of coronation, which includes the issuance of the Staff of Office and a certificate, was thoroughly followed.
He underscored that only the government has the authority to recognize and authenticate a king, and that no unrecognized individual could challenge the legitimacy of Eze Aro’s enthronement.
“The rumors about the king’s removal are completely false and baseless,” Ekeoma stated. “The government follows a stringent process to ensure the legitimacy of any enthronement, and we have not received any court order regarding this matter.”
As the debate rages on, the status of Eze Aro remains a point of contention in Abia State’s ongoing political and cultural landscape.
