As Nigerians, the socioeconomic realities we find ourselves are beyond the power of anyone to change. And since we do not have the power to change the situations – poverty, inflation, unemployment, lack of power supply, infrastructural deficit, high interest rate, volatile exchange rate, etc, the best we can do is to change ourselves.
Do you care to really understand what meant to change yourself when you are unable to change the situation? Below are the simple ways to achieve just that. By taking the following steps into consideration, you are going to change your own realities despite the harsh economy:
*WAYS TO CHANGE YOURSELF: *
- Stop the Blame Game: Stop the blame game and take full responsibility for your life, family, business, future and personal well-being.
- Make a Decision: Every meaningful goal starts with a decision. Decide for yourself and take purposeful decisions on what you want from life.
III. Change Your Thinking- Develop a set of new thought-patterns to transform your life and experience. You cannot think like a slave and live as a king.
- Acquire New Knowledge: You cannot solve a problem with the same level of mindset that created it. Upskill and upgrade your knowledge base through capacity Building.
- Start Something New: Do not remain same person doing same thing. Do things differently to get better results. It’s only a fool who keeps doing same thing and expects different results.
- Create and Add Value: Strive to become a person of value by creating and adding value to others. Personal transformation happens when you add value to yourself.
VII. Live on Purpose: You are not truly living until you discover and pursue your God-given purpose. Be determined to live a meaningful and purposeful life.
VIII. Set Achievable Goals: Always set goals and design effective strategies to achieve such goals. Goal-setting helps you to overcome distractions and stage attraction.
- Be the Change: Nothing will change until you change. Let the desired change start with you by changing some daily routines and common habits that are inimical to your progress.
- Do Not Forget Your Source: Remember your creator – God. He is vine, we are branches, and without Him, we cannot do anything. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.” – Phil. 4:13.
*WORTH THINKING ABOUT: *
A lot of people go through life blaming others for things that went wrong in their lives, in which they failed to responsibility. For how long would you continue to blame others?
*NOTE: *
The solution to your problem is within you. Be determined to take absolute responsibility for your life and situation, and you would be surprised how things will turn around for better around you.
