We Didn’t Sack All 2018 LEA Staff At Kuje

Kuje Area Council Chairman, Hon Abdulahi Sabo says he did not sack the alleged 2018 employees of Local Education Authority, LEA, in the council numbering about one thousand and three staff.

Hon Sabo speaking with journalist at the council secretariat after the letter of the alleged sack reached the journalist said it was suspension and not sack.

Speaking through his secretary, the chairman said since 2019 the chairman took over the affairs of the council, he has been managing the staff, as a result of the available space for such employment was just ninety as against the one thousand and thirty staff employed by his predecessor thinking he would return to office as the chairman of Kuje Area Council.

He further narrates that the suspension is meant to create vacuum for proper screening of staff as some of them are not qualified or have certificate to back up their appointment.

Sabo also noted that managing them since 2019 is to avoid crisis because all those affected are brothers and sisters but due process must be followed.

In a situation where you have a graduate been employed as level 4 officer while SSCE holder will be on level 6 is abnormal so he said.

Hon. Sabo finally said that suspension is not dismissal as special verification screening has been scheduled for January 2023.

End.
